CapeStars to build on Umhlangano experience

HS Winehouse Beverages and Hospitality director Wilkins Mijiga has pledged continued participation in cultural festivals through their newly introduced CapeStars spirits.

The company was among some of the brands that participated at the annual Umhlangano wa Maseko Ngoni Cultural Festival at Mkolimbo Village in Traditional Authority Kwataine, Ntcheu on Saturday.

Mijiga said: “Celebrations and getting together is the essence of all cultural festivals and CapeStars will be party to all cultural festivals in Malawi and within the region as it works on establishing footprints far and wide.”

During the festival, patrons were given a chance to taste the three CapeStars brands such as gin, brandy and vodka for free. Mijiga said the feedback they got from the revellers was inspiring and gave them necessary energy to reach out to more consumers.

He said their participation at the Umhlangano Cultural Festival  provided them with exposure and widened public awareness about their brand.

“It was a great platform for visibility that has generated product trial. CapeStars is about oiling and lubricating social interactions. Cultural events such as Umhlangano are the epitome of social interactions and that is natural for our brand to be at the core of such events,” said Mijiga.

In his address, Inkosi ya Makosi Gomani V paid tribute to companies and organisations which participated and assisted in the organisation of the festival.

He said: “There is no better platform for us to preach about our culture than this. We are, therefore, grateful to all those who have helped us in one way or another to make this event a success.” Apart from mounting displays at the event, CapeStars also donated K200 000 to the festival
